Dan’s a northern lad who’s been on the radio since he was 18. That’s over 25 years…
He’s the Radio X Evening Show host, and he’s also on Radio X Chilled, every Sunday from 7pm.
He spent 3 years as XFM’s drivetime presenter, broadcasting across the UK, every weekday afternoon from 4pm. He started at XFM in 2010, having previously worked on the old Galaxy network (now Capital FM) from 2005 to 2009.
Dan made his TV presenting debut early in 2012, hosting the brilliant Channel 4 music series ‘Launched at Red Bull Studios’ in which he interviewed the hotly tipped acts for 2012 over 10 episodes. Dan also completed the travel documentary “Street Circuit Weekender” for Mercedes and Avis.
With a passion for live events, Dan has a long history of involvement with a variety of festivals, from music to sports.
He’s been on stage in front of 50,000 people at Party in the Park; covered the Mercury Music Prize live from the awards, and spent a month hosting shows for XFM and Coors Light from the top of a mountain in Val d’Isere. He’s also DJ’ed at many festivals – ranging from Lovebox to Secret Garden Party. More recently, Dan has been hosting Mclaren F1 live events, and introducing the bands for Radio X’s birthday party.
Dan’s also a sought-after voice over artist. He’s been the voice of QUEST, Discovery’s ‘rough and tough’ adventure channel and can also be heard on ITV2 and ITV4. Dan regularly lends his voice to numerous TV and Radio ads.
His warm and charming attitude puts his guests at ease, always leading to intelligent and inspiring interviews, be they on or off camera. He’s interviewed everyone from Ricky Gervais to Rihanna.
Away from music, Dan has a huge passion for travel and winter sports.
He also plays the bagpipes, and was once tipped as a future star of Hammer for Team GB after coming third in the Scottish Schools Athletics Championship. Unfortunately, it was later revealed only 3 people had entered, and he was awarded the bronze medal by default. Still counts…

I’ll be in Trafalgar Square this summer hosting the McLaren F1 live event. We’ll have the team, the cars and most importantly the drivers on stage, ahead of the British Grand Prix. Join me, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri for a few days of fun this July. Ticket details on Global PLayer.
I’ve had a few people contact me for Voiceover work and DJ sets recently. I still do both. I have recently updated my reels. I love Djing…but since I had the kids, and started on the Radio X evening show, my availability and desire to be out late, dramatically decreased. I’ve been thinking about it a lot recently, and I’m looking forward to seeing if the gigs i’ve got coming up make me really want to get back out and play. I’ve still been making bits and bobs, bootlegs, loops etc. It’s just for fun though…which has been the best!
Absolutely over the moon, to tell you I’m starting the Radio X evening show from January 9th 2023. It’s gonna be the home of big guests, even bigger competitions and lots of new tunes. I hope you can join me, Sunday to Thursday, from 7pm! Listen anywhere around the world on global player. Download from your App Store now…

He later moved to Galaxy (now CapitalFM) to present drivetime and weekends across the network. In 2010, he was asked to host the XFM afternoon show, which he went on to present for 2 years.
Shows on Kiss FM and NME Radio followed, with Dan returning to XFM in late 2012, to host drivetime and ‘The Weekender’.

I’m sat in a posh private members club in Mayfair. It’s all dark timber clad walls and velvet quilted chairs – everything W1 should be. I’m not to get too comfortable says the man I’m meeting. Because tonight we’re going to an illegal rave. The illegal rave scene, which exploded with the birth of acid … Continue reading “Blog 51 – Illegal Raves”

Dan is a proud supporter of various projects around the world. Take a look some of the charities that are close to Dan’s heart.
Warchild now helps over 100,000 children around the world, trapped in conflict zones through no choice of their own.
Make Some Noise supports small charities around the UK, who struggle to get heard. They work mostly with young people, and all the money raised has a massive impact on the work they can do, and the people they can reach.
